Contract deals from more retailers are coming soon. Meanwhile, buying SIM-free and adding a SIM-only plan is often the cheapest way to get the iPhone 16. See the two-year costs below.

Total cost = upfront + monthly price × contract length. Contract prices usually rise each April; check the retailer's terms before you buy.

iPhone 16 + SIM: what it really costs over 2 years

Buy the phone outright for £799, then add a SIM-only plan. Here's the total over 24 months with our cheapest rolling SIMs. You can switch SIM any month.

SIM plan	Total over 24 months	Works out at
Light use 1pMobile 5GB · £5/mo	£919	£38.29/mo	Get SIM
Everyday 1pMobile 50GB · £10/mo	£1,039	£43.29/mo	Get SIM
Unlimited data Chattr Unlimited · £15/mo	£1,159	£48.29/mo	Get SIM

Totals = phone price + 24 × the SIM's monthly price. SIM prices can change; check the provider's site before buying.

SIM-free or contract?

Buying SIM-free means you own the phone outright, pay no interest, and can switch to a cheaper SIM whenever you like. A contract spreads the cost but ties you in, often for 24–36 months, and prices can rise each year. Use the totals above to compare against any contract you're offered. Our SIM-only vs contract guide explains how.
